Day 88 – 14th November
Posted by TravellingStrom on November 14, 2008
Well, the day started out a beauty and ended the same way, just differently. 🙂
We went and did a rubbish run around the next bay which had a floating pontoon with wheelie bins, then motored down to the bridge near Brooklyn. We had intended buying some supplies here, but they had bugger all, and the carton of ale cost $60, crikey!
Then we went right down to the left hand side of the map where there were some very private residences, very expensive as well.
Then back up towards Cottage point, this is where there is a restaurant and a sea plane fly’s people in from Sydney just for a feed, you can see it parked out front.
But after that we got down to some sailing, and after all the practice we had done yesterday we performed some excellent tacking manoeuvres, it was great and as you can tell, a tad windy 🙂
But we had time to relax as well 🙂
And the plane can fly as well
Coffee skipper?
Then late in the afternoon we headed back to Newport and the mooring, we had broken a piece of equipment called a CAR which the sail needed, so we had no choice.
That evening we decided to go and get some dinner and drinks and stuff in town, now for those in Australia, they may have seen a news report about a wild storm that lashed Sydney, well we were right amongst it.
We got back on board late evening and had a quiet night.
