Day 215 – 11th July 09

Posted by TravellingStrom on July 11, 2009

Saturday – Miles City, Montana

I slept in again, 🙂 I am becoming used to it, this town is like a crab pot, once in it is hard to get away 🙂
Not much to write about today either, woke up a few times, had some breakfast/lunch, had a lazy afternoon reading a book before hitting the library again for the internet. After doing some updates, I had a few beers with Lee, then a couple up near the motel before buying some BBQ wings takeaway and had a quiet evening for a change.

Me and Mark

James and me

Punky, Daves Missus

I wanted to leave in the morning and head towards Canada after clipping North Dakota.

Day 2 miles and 3 km
Trip – 24,131 miles and 38,835 km

Cheers

    TS,

I have to say you are enjoying a much deserved break from the constant riding you’ve done. A few days “rest” will do your spirits good, even if your liver has to suffer a little.

That is the way I have looked at it as well. I also needed to sort out some stuff, like that TomTom issue, which may be sort of resolved after an international phone call last night my time. It is cold and pissing down with rain outside this morning, so I am not going anywhere today either, but it looks like an all day Map download so I can get Canada maps.

      My liver will shrink, eventually:)

The great thing about the liver is that is can rebuild itself given time, so one or two AFD’s will help, if you can find time in your busy schedule.

Maybe we should take on the likes of TomTom and Garmin and give them detailed instructions on how to build a proper motorbike ready sat nav.

        • You could be right on both counts Pete.

I may have been a bit hasty with my anti TomTom remarks the other day, because as soon as I phoned them, I did get good help, but I still cannot get another bracket over here, I may have to buy a new one and have this faulty one replaced when I return home under warranty. It is still a system that cannot handle long term day by day use on normal roads on a motor bike. Why are you still up at this time of the morning btw, drinking rum again 🙂

          Cheers TS

Damn, no rum in the house. As an unemployed bum these days while searching for work, my time constraints are a little more flexible. But in the absence of rum I have to drain my wine reserves, tonight was Chardonnay Semillion, last night was a meaty Cab Sav.

Besides, it is only 1:30am, and that isn’t late at all.
