Packed the bike and was nearly on the road at 8am. I could not get my iPod to work, spent about 15mins in the carpark trying. It is activated via a Monster remote, it is permanently connected to power and lives under the seat. I tried it manually but although it selects tracks on the screen it does not actually go into play mode, it waits a few secondes and goes to the next song. It is under warrenty, but had no more time to waste on it, so I headed north no music.
Quite cool down this way, I had my thermals on “) Here is a nice view from one of the ranges I crossed
I stopped in Cardwell for some fuel, very nice beach location this, quiet town.
There was a lot of roadworks heading up so it made it a slow trip. The roads were being raised by the looks, as all this gets under water during the wet. This area has a lot of cane plantations and bananas, here you can see sugar cane on the right and banana on the left 🙂
I finally arrived in Cairns around 1130am and went to Wayne Leonards motorcycles to meet up with Des, I had missed him but bumped into Charly just as he was leaving so I followed him to Des’ place.
Then we went down to the Cairns Yacht Club for a public meeting, they were trying to save the building, you can VOTE HERE but only if you live in Queensland apparently, which is silly, what about visiting Yachties!
After that there was a BBQ planned at Suzies place, but first off we found the problem with my iPod, it has been damaged by something under the seat, you can see the ding
It does not bode well for a warrenty repair eh! I may have to buy a new one, buggerit.
No worries, went off to Suzie and Kens place for a BBQ, a great night was had and a well laid out BBQ, they certainly know how to go upmarket 🙂
A great night was had and not too late, only just after midnight before crashing
