Woke up to a hot day and quite tired, the camp sites were too close together and there were too many noises, probably because I woke them up with my snoring 😉 I could tell, because I had a sore throat 🙂 It looked like being a stinker, but I needed to find some internet because I had some emails to attend to and also wanted to look around a bit. I did my washing first then headed to town, sans ATGATT. It was way too hot for all that gear, especially slow riding through city traffic. Anyway, after a few wrong turns, I found an internet cafe which was fast and cheap, only $2.90/hr. Updated a few days of blog and did some banking and emails etc and had lunch at the same time. It is called the Arafura cafe, on Smith St for those interested.
Just down the road where I was parked I spotted this gun and fishing shop, I wonder what type of fish that gun is used for?
Then, I headed to the Aviation Museum, Greg had been there the day before and recommended it, it had the only B52 bomber outside America as an exhibit. It was steamy hot now and I was getting fatigued, the sweat just pouring out of my helmet. I bought some cold sports drinks and looked around before the hour long lecture on the B52 was given by a very knowledgeable chap. The actual building was purpose built to house the whole plane
And the bomb bay was utilised as continuous play movie theatre on the bombing of Darwin during WW2
All the other space was full of exhibits of the different machines that were either flown from Darwin or shot down
By this stage at the end I was absolutely shattered, inside the hanger it must have been 40+ as it was not conditioned and outside it was 38C. I headed back, bought a few beers (bad move) and only managed 2 before I had a small dinner then I hit the sack around dusk, it was still hot, but I was so tired I needed sleep.
