Day 430 – 11th February 2010
Posted by TravellingStrom on February 11, 2010
Thursday – DakarMotos, Buenos Aires, Argentina
OK, a bit of an overview for the next few days. Not much really happening, people come and go, this is the Triumph and hack that belongs to Andy and Maya.
I guess the best thing that could happen was that the bike could change hands. Well, the good news is that this morning when I checked, I had had a deposit into my bank account, so now was the time for Stephen to come on down and pick up the bike, which he did 🙂 Bye Bye Vstrom, I am sort of sad to see it go, it is a good bike and will be now heading north to America with a new rider, hopefully he will keep it on the rubber side
That meant the next step in the handover was to arrange a trip over the border to get the paperwork sorted out. This took a bit of time and it was not going to be cheap. In the end, we settled for a midday fast ferry ride tomorrow to Uruguay, do whatever paperwork was needed, then we had to sit around until 11.30pm before we could return. This was not ideal, but it would save the extra motel and other costs associated with an overnight stay. The rest of the day passed quickly with some work being done by the others but I was about done 🙂 As it turns out, there were four of us with Horizons Unlimited shirts so we had a bit of a photo shoot in the back yard 🙂 Left to right, Andy, Javier, Ken and Smooth
The night progressed as all the others, we cooked up a feed and had some drinks or three and chatted about bikes 🙂 One of these days I may get to bed before midnight, but I am not going to hang around by the balls waiting for that to happen 😉
Day –0 miles and km
Trip – 54,042 miles and 86,972 km
Cheers
