Day 172 – 29th May 09

Friday – Dahlonega, Georgia
Well, another wet night, but I survived only a little damp. I am on the road today, so I packed up and after breakfast said goodbye to the Ohio crowd and left, wet boots and all. Of course I had one more crack at the dragon up and back, but of course this time I was fully laden. 🙂 There are some pictures here
I am unsure how long they will last, but as I cannot get a direct download I won’t be buying any, they are sent out on CD or in print.
After that little run I headed away south. It looked like it was going to be a fine day, just my luck but all I wanted to do was make some miles and go find a dry motel and dry out all my stuff.
I eventually found the Georgia state line and grabbed about 3 shots, the road was not very wide so I was parked in an awkward spot, but after the 3rd attempt it was done 🙂 I have no idea why bums are a state emblem but they look cute?
Some of the road over the next hour or so was quite nice.
But eventually I picked a town, which happened to be Dahlonega and found a motel. As it happens to be a Friday night on Graduation night, this was a tad more expensive than I wanted, but as I had saved a bit over the past few days, not a major issue. Here, I spread all my wet bits everywhere and the room was in a good place for sunlight as well.
After some time checking emails, I attached my new dragon stickers, I also bought some red ones for the Black bike at home 🙂
It was a dry town, again, but I did not need a beer anyway, I just lazed around enjoying the sunshine and starting to write up some blog entries, which I had been neglecting 🙂
Day – 191 miles and 307 km
Trip – 11,779 miles and 18,956 km
Cheers

Nice stickers. I hope you got a couple for your Strom back home, or it will be jealous. 😉
