Well, the weather is perfect here and after making a cuppa we headed off under motor up the Hawkesbury river. Here is Al, proud owner 🙂
We motored quite a way, but we needed to sort the sails and all the rigging before the sea breeze starts a bit later in the day.
The breeze picked up late morning and we started sailing, I am a beginner at this stuff so it was all a learning curve. Alan and Des know boats so I had good teachers.
Driving is a lot tougher under sail and I am not yet competent.
We had seen other yachts around and this one of the same class but bigger was about normal for the few days we were out there, that is they totally ignored us, not even a wave, we figured they were just ignorant or the old owner had done something wrong as we still had his number on the sail 😦
But who cares, we were having fun, now I know it is not fast, but 6.6knots is quick when heeled over 🙂
After a great afternoon learning the ropes we headed into an anchorage where we fed some ducks had a swim ate and had some beers.
Day – 0km but a few nautical miles
Trip – 27,681km
