I had a lazy start, but I had no major plans today, but I was going to be in Ularra Wednesday and as it turns out, near Newcastle the next day. So today I decided to head to Bathurst, it was just up the road and I could do a few things like argue about my phone bill with Telstra and maybe do an oil change, it has been 5000km or so now.
So, I packed and cleaned up all the spilled beer nuts with some help from these fellas.
While being watched by these fellas 🙂
So, off I head towards Yass, then turned west then north just using minor roads, it was all hay and grain harvesting out this way.
Then I found my creek, I did not know I had lost it though 🙂
It was an easy day, nice weather though a bit cool and watch out for bugs as well. I stopped at Yass for an early lunch at a highway service centre and managed to check email etc, spent an hour or so I had heaps of time.
I eventually arrived in Bathurst around 3pm and first thing was waste an hour at the local Telstra franchise. I had been billed over $100 for a $10/month plan, in the end I gave up, waste of time, although Lyndell who helped me get nowhere was very nice and helpful 🙂
Lyndell had given me directions to the Suzuki shop which was Beard Brothers, they were very helpful and sold me some oil and a filter and let me do my own service on the concrete out front. If you need a hand in this town, look them up. I was glad to get the new oil in, now I can test the theory put forward by Mick Hone.
I went to the only caravan park and was only charged $22/night, which is OK. But, and a big BUT here, if you come when the racing is on at Mount Panorama, be prepared to spend $60/night for a tent site and you must pay a minimum of 4 nights!!!!!
Anyway, I had an early lazy night, did nothing except try and update my blog, but although I had full bars on the signal, it kept dropping out, so I gave up and will try in the morning.
Day – 320km
